Scouthead & Austerlands Contest

The Scouthead & Austerlands contest takes place on Dawson’s Field in a safe, family friendly and hassle free environment; located just off the A62 Huddersfield Road at Scouthead. Bands register and coaches assemble, at the Three Crowns Inn before marching along the A62 to the contest field.

The field is self-contained in terms of catering facilities with its own barbecue, beer marquee and tea-tent - all staffed by volunteers. Products are sold at pocket friendly prices with all proceeds ploughed back into the contest. |

The contest site has adequate toilets facilities and first aid cover is provided by St John Ambulance. |

The main site is an open field, with no problems for wheelchair access. |
The event is set in rural surroundings with fine views overlooking open countryside and ready motorway access. Traffic can approach its location by travelling along the A62 in either direction from Oldham or Delph.
